![]() If I primarily used the Mac app, I’d probably just stick with this, but since I’ve mainly replaced my laptop with my iPad, I’ll probably try a different app. There is no Safari extension to import directly from Safari. The app suddenly quits when you try to save the recipe or add a picture and then your progress is lost and you have to go through the whole process over again. The importer won’t even open a URL if you copy and paste it with the “ at the beginning. The import feature on the iOs app works very poorly, even from sites that it recognizes. However, the developers haven’t updated this app in years and it is no longer working for me. It was okay for viewing recipes from my Mac and occasionally importing them. I originally chose this one because I had MacGourmet on my Mac. I am fed up with this app and the developers seem to have abandoned it. When Mariner purchased the software they eliminated the user forum, which I always found helpful, and pretty much any means of contacting support beyond submitting a service ticket. I would NOT purchase this program if you are looking for something to create a recipe or beverage database. There is no evidence that they plan to develop or truly support it any further. It is clear to me that they are milking this program for all it is worth before it is retired. Mariner “support” could not solve the issue and about two years ago stopped responding to my requests. I have tried the standard delete everything and start from scratch instructions on the Mariner website without success. When I edit a record I get duplicate records for the same item (both the pre and post-edit version). Now, nothing I delete on my desktop gets deleted on my iOS devices after a sync. The cloud sync has never worked for me since Mariner decided to use their own servers (when I was able to sync via Dropbox or iCloud it worked fine). The iOS apps have been, and continue to be a disappointment. The desktop version of the program still works well in spite of the fact that no updates have come for years. I have been a user of the desktop and iOS versions of this program for years. Lampornis's Review of Gourmet Mobile Reviewed on 8/30/19 2:02 PM Think Mariner does not care about this app star star star_border star_border star_border Mariner needs to take user issues seriously and they need to put more effort into researching the causes behind the issues. ![]() I've notified Mariner of the issue on their support blog. ![]() Note that this work around works only on the Mac, as the iOS app won't allow you to delete pictures. If there is a picture attached to the recipe, regardless of device, IT WILL NOT SYNC! The only work around is to delete the picture from the recipe. I found the issue and work around last night, and my sister just confirmed it as well. It doesn't work if the recipes are on an iOS device because the device WILL NOT recognize the new account, even when one tries a reset. That is a lazy form of support, and it's clear they have not investigated the issue. Mariner gives the same standard response about deleting and recreating the account and then trying to sync. My sister, mother, and I have all had the same issue. I've seen multiple write-ups here and on the Mariner support site complaining about the inability to sync between devices. I loved this program when I first started using it but lately, not so much.
